ADVANCE FEE FRAUD WARNING
The police warns people not to respond to emails that tell them that they have won a prize in a lottery or sweepstake organised by several organisations, claiming to hold office in Amsterdam. They can collect this prize by transferring money in advance, for fees and handling costs. This is a form of fraud, that is known as 'advance fee fraud' or Nigerian 419-scam. Frauds send large amounts of emails with messages that you can earn a lot of money only by only supplying them with bank account information and/or a a relatively small amount of money. Don't send any information to these people, let alone money.
